Methodology
Each bar is the number of registered carriers in a dormancy bucket. The bucket is each carrier's operational-activity state, recomputed daily from their most recent roadside inspection date: active (inspected in the last 90 days), stale, warning, and dormant (progressively longer since the last inspection), and never inspected (no inspection on record). Source: FMCSA carrier registration and roadside inspection records, refreshed daily.
