Each bar is the number of registered carriers in a hazmat-authorization bucket. The hazmat flag comes from each carrier's FMCSA registration record — it marks whether the carrier is authorized to transport hazardous materials. This chart is a current-state snapshot, not a time series. Source: FMCSA carrier registration records, refreshed daily.
